Excellence in Child Care

Excellence in Child Care

AIJC member camps strive to provide the best possible experience for each and every child. How do we do that? We're a deliberately developmental organization that exists to support you and help make that happen.

Our commitment to safety doesn't stop at the ropes course. We make an effort to interview every one of our staff in person, wherever they are on the planet. Through our partners, we leverage industry-leading technologies and security services to ensure that all of our staff are qualified to work with our kids.

Looking across our field, we know that high quality, returning summer staff are a key to success. The Association provides support for staff training modules -- from webinars and conference calls to weekend retreats and prominent guest speakers -- that camps can utilize throughout the year. Our tailored development services bring the resources of a large consulting firm to your summer camp. We will work with you to develop a program that exceeds your needs.

AIJC members have a shared commitment to developing young Jewish talent into the next generation of camp professionals through our teen leadership development programs, innovative scholarship and grant opportunities for returning staff, and robust professional development plans. Ask us about our best-in-class teen leadership curriculum and semi-annual full time staff Israel learning retreat.

We have a lot of friends with us around our campfire. We're joined by staffing agencies, professional trainers, social workers, educators, and experts in all facets of the camping industry.

World-Class Programming

World-Class Programming

It's all about choice.

Activities at our camps fall into two categories: skill-building and community-development. Our activity program is based around individual choice. Curriculum is developed by our full-time year-round staff and is enhanced by our summer team. Safety truly is a first-priority and our camps are accredited by the American Camping Association or Canadian Camping Association, respectively.

We live in a world where virtually everything is available at our fingertips. Jewish summer camp plays a key role in developing a sense of real-life community for campers, staff, and families. We work to create a space where kids can be exposed to new activities and develop life-long interests.

From waterski programs recognized as exceptional by the USA Waterski Association to continent-wide Hiking and Tripping programs, activities at our camps are compelling for children of all ages.

Artist-in-Residence programing affords campers the opportunity to engage with local and nationally-recognized Jewish professionals in music, sports, drama, and fine arts. Role models are everywhere!

AIJC members are great partners for your organization. We work with the Anti-Defamation League to teach our children about diversity, partner with the iCener to deliver cutting-edge Israel programming, and are active on college campuses through local Hillel partnerships to connect with our staff year-round. Our camps are proud to be a premier host to BBYO's summer leadership programs.

Jewish Vision

UNIQUE & POWERFUL

  • Judaism at Camp strives to be welcoming and embracing
  • It is fun and promotes individual growth in a Jewish environment that is an enriching experience
  • This experience is values-based and community-focused

We believe that being or feeling connected to Israel increases one's sense of Jewish identity. It is our mission to help children and Jewish staff members develop knowledge, love, and pride for Israel as part of their Jewish culture, heritage, and religion.
